Another triumph in the War on Terror
It's nice to know the people who are protecting us are so smart.

Berlin Wall
Regarding the Twentieth Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall:
Yawn. Old news, and the importance of the event has always been overhyped or hyperhyped, depending on your point of view. And we didn't really have much to do with it. There's no way Communism could have lasted more than one human lifetime--a bit under sixty years, in Russia. For one thing it's fundamentally unsound, and for another it's not in the Russian psyche to succeed at something as systematic as Communist government. Russian creativity comes too much in spurts. I think if USA had been annihilated by flying saucers any time after 1976 or so, the fall of Communism would have been delayed maybe three years; no more.
Soon after Clinton's election in 1992, he was taking questions at a town hall, and a very old Russian woman asked an incomprehensible question, which, when finally explained, turned out to be: "Now that we know Communism was a mistake, will you support the restoration of the Tsarist Monarchy under the descendants of Nikolas II?"
It's not as if the reunification gave Deutschland much to rejoice in, either, with a generation of former-Communists dumped into their economy.
Today in USA this anniversary is nothing but an occasion for Reaganolators to publically worship their celluloid-to-TV image.

In praise of oversight
Right-to-lifers are crowing that an abortion clinic in Pensacola has shut down. Maybe I'm slow, but I don't see how this counts as a victory for right-to-lifers. This particular clinic was a bloody mess--dangerous, poorly run, and in violation. They shut down because they couldn't pay the fines imposed on them for improper lab conditions.
The whole story shows that oversight is working. That's good news for pro-choicers, and it's one of the reasons abortions in USA are so safe.

How to make randy Terry pay his debts
How to make Randall Terry pay his debts:
A judge should issue an injunction, forbidding him to see, or speak with, any of his children until his debts are paid in full. And, a warning to the children that if Terry violates the injunction and they participate in the violation by talking to him or interacting with him in any way whatsoever, they will be punished with juvie-time for abetting the violation.

PP director resigns
There's something fishy about Abby Johnson's resignation.
It's easy to understand Norma McCorvey changing sides--being the plaintiff in Roe/Wade was like winning the lottery, it gave her a chance to be a right-to-life propagandist instead of a burger-flipper, but this one is less clear.

Prayer for Safety, repost
May the Good True Lord protect Professor Robert P. George and keep him safe from terror and from assassination, so long as Dr. LeRoy Carhart remains safe, terror-free, and unvictimized, and not one second longer.
